The North Devon coastline boasts 19 beaches, some are incredible swathes of sand, others rocky coves ideal for rockpooling at low tide. Some of the best surfing in the UK can be found at Woolacombe, Croyde and Putsborough. On the doorstep of The Grange are two of these, Rockham Bay is a rocky cove found after walking across some wonderful open countryside with sea views, and Woolacombe is also a walk from the house if you’re feeling energetic, but there is car parking in Woolacombe if not, Woolacombe is a 2.5 mile stretch of sand, with Atlantic rollers and sand dunes - a wonderful place in all weathers for families, surfing and walking. The beach has the safety aspect of lifeguards present on the beach all day every day through the summer season and beyond. Woolacombe is a small town with shops and restaurants supplying all the needs for a family day out. |
